It sounds like Lee Corso is ready for 'College GameDay' to start

Lee Corso is a mainstay on ESPN's "College GameDay".

His presence on the panel as well as his weekly "headgear" game pick is part of the college football experience itself.

Corso has been part of "GameDay" since 1987, so he really is an institution. For fans of both the show and Corso, though, it hasn't necessarily been easy watching him age within the role. He's still full of charm and energy, but at 88 years old, it would make sense because of health reasons if he decided to hang up his microphone and call it a career.

At last notice, Corso has no desire to retire.

“I’m gonna be like that guy in Vaudeville. “They hook him around the neck, and they pull him off the stage as he keeps talking," Corso told GQ in December 2023.

According to one of his long-time partners, Rece Davis, it doesn't sound like the 88-year-old is slowing down either. "GameDay" just did a live event in Chicago, and Corso was in attendance.

"Good to see LC. He was rolling and in great spirits and great health. We had a really, really good time," Davis said when providing an update on the event (h/t On3).

As far as this writer is concerned, Corso should be able to stay on "GameDay" as long as he wants. He's part of the very fabric of college football and Saturday mornings would not be the same without him.
