The Atlanta Falcons have placed P Dom Maggio on waivers Thursday, according to Field Yates. This opens a roster spot for newly signed punter Bradley Pinion. Maggio, 24, wound up going undrafted out of Wake Forest back in 2020.
The Falcons finally added a veteran to the punter competition, signing ex-Bucs and 49ers P Bradley Pinion to a one-year deal on Thursday. It’s been quiet on the Atlanta Falcons front since the end of mandatory minicamp, but we all knew that silence couldn’t last forever.
Last season, the Atlanta Falcons struggled moving the football, ranking just 29th in total yards gained. As a result, they attempted the eighth-fewest field goals in the league and were in the top-half of the league in total punts.
The Atlanta Falcons signed punter Dom Maggio to the practice squad after placing Dustin Colquitt on the reserve/COVID-19 list on Monday. Maggio was one of the first players signed by Terry Fontenot but was quickly waived at the beginning of September.

Although it sounds like a character from the movie Goodfellas, Dom Maggio is a punter and the latest signing by Terry Fontenot. This move shouldn’t come as a surprise because Sterling Hofrichter needs competition.
